Mierle Ladewig

Mierle Pickles Ladewig (1916–1999) was an American economist. Her studies in ergonomics were the first of their kind in the United States, although her work on the application of industrial engineering to factory design preceded the work of ergonomists.

Career

Education and early career
Pickles-Ladewig was born in New York City, New York on January 5, 1916 to Victoria Pickles-Ladewig. She was educated at Bryn Mawr College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics in 1937. The following year, she graduated with a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University. As a graduate student at Columbia, she worked in the field of agricultural economics. She was a research assistant at Columbia in 1938, and in 1939 she worked as a research assistant and taught courses at George Washington University. She completed her Doctor of Philosophy degree at Columbia in 1941. Her thesis was titled The Concept of the Experience of Efficiency in the Organization and Usage of the Production.

She was hired as an assistant professor of economics at Rutgers College at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 1941, where she remained until 1946. In 1946, she became a visiting lecturer at Yale University’s School of Business, and from 1947 to 1948 she was an assistant professor of management at Princeton University. In 1948, she joined the faculty of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she eventually became an associate professor of industrial engineering. In 1960, she became an associate professor of ergonomics at the University of Minnesota, where she remained until her retirement in 1986.

In 1954, Pickles-Ladewig was the editor of a special issue of the Journal of the Society of Industrial Engineers that examined the state of the ergonomic field. Her own book A Study of Ergonomic Practices in the Forecast Office was published in 1964.

It is written in C/C++ and is in the form of a Powershell Extension.
As I mentioned this is nothing new to Processors, however, I have found it to be a bit more reliable than the processes I have used in the past.
